Our History

After having completed several post-graduate courses in Europe, Ernesto Velarde Danache founded this Law Firm in 1989.

Our purpose has always been to be a full service Law Firm. No need to go beyond was and is the goal. Real estate due diligence and acquisitions, incorporations, permitting, labor and employment, governmental relations, tax, customs, immigration, environmental, in other words, every basic or ancillary need of a foreign company venturing into Mexico is promptly and diligently addressed.

In addition to our Brownsville office, we have now four Mexican locations: Matamoros and Reynosa, Tamaulipas, some of the most attractive cities on the US-Mexico border where hundreds of foreign owned companies have established operations, as well as an office in Leon, Guanajuato, and another office in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. To complement our services we have an in-house Notary Public in Mexico and thirteen Mexican licensed lawyers to support our efforts.

About Ernesto Velarde

Ernesto Velarde-Danache, Mexican Notary Public and Attorney licensed in Mexico.

He holds an LLM from the University of Cambridge, England, and he recently earned an LL.M. in Comparative and International Law from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas.

He was the Mexican Representative to the International Year of Peace Conference held at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, and attended the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands.

His firm has assisted more than 400 companies to get started in Mexico.

For more than 18 years he was the host of a live Mexican television show by the name of “Con Sentido Comun”, which aired live in Mexico and Texas.

In 2011, Ernesto published his first novel “La Conjura. Con o Sin la CIA”.

Ernesto has spoken about Mexican and International Laws, Doing Business in Mexico, and Nearshoring in more than 26 countries; he has also been Co-chair of the Latin America and Caribbean Committee of the ABA. He is currently a member of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), Monterrey Chapter.

Ernesto is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
